Description:

In the course of the renovation of the Nettersheim rail station, a new bridge was required in order to complete the architectonical concept. A truss bridge made of timber seemed to be perfectly suited to provide access to the "Nature Center Eifel". The entire bridge was installed at night, after the last train had passed the station. After an hour and a half, the first pedestrians could take their first steps on the new bridge. The braces of the truss are designed corresponding to the load. In a asymetric manner there are no braces with the same angle. This is specially attractive and eye-catching. The observation deck on the west side of the bridge provides a beautiful view over the Pfaffenbender-Park.
