A meandering curved bridge with steel pylons allows cyclists in the Western Dutch town Almere the crossing of a busy highway to a nature reserve at the Ijsselmeer.

With cables and asymmetric pin pylons, a floating impression is created, which is enhanced by the low weight of the timber components. As decking precast concrete elements are chosen that also function as top-side and lateral protection for the main girder. The parapet is made of steel.

With this bridge timber engineering is able to show and prove its flexible formability. The individual curved beam elements were easily produced in laminated timber and enabled a quick installation.
