Construction: The main support is composed of sixteen curved glulam columns each of which is coupled to a support. This results in an assembly-friendly structure, which is characterized by easily prefabricated components. Between the pillars is a wooden diagonal banding for the horizontal stiffening of the tower. On the columns is an octagonal viewing platform located, which is in about 14.00 m heigh.

Description:
Visitors will be offered a special experience through the tower - a viewpoint to admire the landscape and the ambience. The guiding idea of the design is the natural environment - the habitat heath. The shape of the tower is derived from the silhouette of a tree trunk, the viewing platform forms the crown and takes the floor plan and the railing form, referring to the neighboring shelters.
The main support is composed of sixteen curved glulam columns each of which is coupled to a support. This results in an assembly-friendly structure, which is characterized by easily prefabricated components. This means that a large part of the work can be carried out in a production facility and the construction times in the sensitive landscape can be kept short.
Between the columns, a wooden diagonal bracing, which is also part of the prefabricated elements, ensures the horizontal reinforcement of the tower. On the columns is an octagonal viewing platform at about 14.00 m height, which can be reached via a newel stair in the middle of the tower. The viewing platform consists of cross laminated timber and is completely sealed on the upper side. On the platform are a planking on a substructure and a railing of solid timber arranged.
In the design, special attention is paid to the consideration of the structural timber protection. This is realized by the platform and by a slat cover, made of easily exchangeable solid timber slats.
